Evolution from sinusoidal to collinear A-type antiferromagnetic spin-ordered magnetic phase transition in Tb<sub>1?x </sub>Pr<sub> x </sub>MnO<sub>3</sub> solid solution

Abstract The present study reports on the structural and magnetic phase transitions in Pr-doped polycrystalline Tb 0.6 Pr 0.4 MnO 3 , using high-resolution neutron powder diffraction (NPD) collected at SINQ spallation source, to emphasize suppression of sinusoidal structure pure TbMnO evolution a collinear A-type antiferromagnetic ordering. purity, Jahn–Teller distortion, one-electron bandwidth for e g orbital Mn 3+ cation have been calculated 3, comparison parent materials PrMnO through Rietveld refinement from x-ray data room temperature, which reveals GdFeO type orthorhombic having Pnma space group symmetry. temperature-dependent zero field-cooled dc magnetization low temperature down 5 K variation transition due effect substitution site, gives signature nature sample, with weak ferromagnetic component temperature-induced by an external field. field-dependent temperatures coercivity order 2 kOe, is expected canted-spin arrangement or Terbium NPD confirms that nuclear synthesized sample maintains its symmetry 1.5 K. Also, structures solved 50 K, 25 study, shows spin Pn ? ma ?.
